Mental strain spiking again in working women and 40-59 age group

After a period of improvement, several mental health capacities are worsening again.

After showing signs of improvement in early 2021, anxiety and depressed mood were more prevalent in U.S. workers in April than before the pandemic. In this month's Mental. Health Index Report, we'll discuss key stats, including:

  • The risk of PTSD rising as some mental capacities are again worsening, as seen in the 29% increase in worker’s risk of PTSD since start of February 2021. 
  • Workers in 40-59 age group struggling with anxiety, with a 40% jump over the past two months.
  • Cognition has decreased heavily among young workers, in particular men with sustained attention dropping 61% over the past three months.
